Beamon Odom
Retired Chrysler Corporation welder Beamon Odom, 85, of Big Sandy died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at his residence.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Joe McClure is to officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
Chosen as pallbearers are Kurt, Tristin and Jared West, James Stockdale, Jerry Ford and Jimmy Sterling.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Born June 29, 1927, in Big Sandy, he was a son of the late Tommy and Bessie Walker Odom.
His wife, Helen McFadden Odom, died June 5, 1998. They were married on Nov. 22, 1947.
Odom retired after 30 years with Chrysler Corp.
He leaves one daughter: Joyce Odom of Big Sandy; one son: Timmy (Karen Hoskins) Odom of Big Sandy; two sisters: Mary Pool and Ann Childress, both of Wickliffe, Ky.;
Two grandchildren: Natasha Stultz and Cynthia (Kurt) West, both of Big Sandy; and four great-grandchildren: Tristin and Jared West, both of Big Sandy, Landon Fritts of St. Louis and Loren Fritts III of Paris.
He also was preceded in death by a son: Eddie Odom; three brothers: Britty, Thomas and Clayton Odom; and one grandchild: Loren Fritts.
