David Michel was born on October 29, 1866 in Dietel, Russia and died at the age of 70 after a 2 year battle with cancer on November 13, 1936 in his home in Brighton, Colorado. In 1893 he married Eva Reichert in Russia and their union was blessed with ten children, six sons and four daughters. In 1906 he and the family migrated to America. His first home was in Lincoln, Nebraska, then Sterling Colorado, and Delta, Colorado for eleven years. In 1919 he came to Brighton, Colorado and lived there until his death. Left mourning were his widow; his sons Jakob, David, Friedrich, Heinrich, Alexander and Johannes; his daughters Amalie (Mrs. Philip Leinweber), Emilie, Marie, and Eva Michel; as well as two sisters, one in Sterling, Colo., one in Canada and a half-brother in Windsor, Colo.
