Dallas Morning News, February 5, 1991. Services for Julia Stein, former owner of Stein's Cake Box bakery, were held Monday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Mrs. Stein, 87, died Thursday in her hometown, Rockdale. She graduated from high school in Rockdale and with her husband, Otto Stein, owned and operated Stein's Bakery there. They came to Dallas in the early 1950s and opened another bakery, Stein's Cake Box. In 1968 they sold the bakery and in 1983 moved back to Rockdale. Mrs. Stein is survived by four grandchildren.
