Below is the tribute her daughter, Nancy Perry Schoff, read when she and her brother, Dennis Perry, spread her ashes and dropped several long stem roses in the Gulf near Bradenton, Manatee County, FL, to commemorate her life in honor of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren:

"We have wonderful memories of our mother and best friend. She can best be described as a tiny lady with a big heart, a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humor.

She loved to cook and was always preparing meals and sharing them with many of her neighbors and she enjoyed the compliments she would receive.

She loved to paint and would give her paintings to her friends and loved ones simply because she loved to bring joy to others.

She loved to sew, and sewed baby gowns and made hand-made quilts for her grandchildren and her great grandchildren even though her hands hurt from arthritis.

She loved to travel and went on three cruises and took a trip to England a few years ago when one of her great grandchildren was born even though it was painful for her to walk.

Even though our mother is gone from this life, she is still giving. Personally, I gather strength and courage from her every single day. I can't explain it but the feeling is deep within my heart and soul. She has taught me to be a strong woman like she was. She has taught me to put others before myself like she did. She has taught me to be a good mother, grandmother and sister like she was.

Every night when there is a beautiful sunset, I believe in my heart that God is giving our mother the opportunity to paint those beautiful sunsets and it renews my faith and gives me strength.

Every night, I look toward the heavens and I know the first bright star I see is my mother and father looking down on us and watching over us.

Our mother fought a courageous battle and we take comfort in knowing she is now pain free.

We are at peace knowing she is reunited with all her loved ones that predeceased her.
