Born on March 11, 1918 in East Palestine, Ohio, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Muncie) DiScipio. She was graduated from Wooster High School. Initially pursuing a promising career in hairdressing, Elizabeth quit her job and became employed as an LPN in Mansfield General Hospital. But far above her career, she considered her calling to spread the everlasting joy of knowing Jesus Christ to those around her.
Elizabeth was a charter member of Woodville Grace Brethren Church where she led the adult choir. She taught many children over her 40 years as a Sunday school teacher at both Woodville Grace Brethren and First United Methodist Church. She was later a member of the Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church. Elsie had a tremendous vocal talent and she was known for her solo performances. She had a giving heart and supported church mission work with all she could. Elsie's family and friends were always welcome into her home and she loved playing hostess for frequent dinner parties.
Elizabeth is survived by nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wade B. Pittenger in August of 2002, and sisters Ann Cameron and Pauline Suciu.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held immediately following at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elizabeth's memory to Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church may be made at the funeral home.
