Hugh Dee Handy, 64, Nixa, died at 11:40 p.m. Friday, March 13, 1990 in his home. He was born Oct. 7, 1925 in Linden to Marshall and Ada Handy. On Sept. 5, 1947, he married Leola Keltner. He was a retired carpenter and was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Thompson. Survivors include his wife, Leola, of the home; two sisters, Mary Morris, Springfield, and Wanese Mefford, Sparta; two nieces, Glenda Moody, Highlandville, and Ann Carnahan, Allamont, Kan.; and two nephews, Steve Mefford, Branson, and Terry Mefford, Memphis, Tenn. Services were Monday in Harris Colonial Chapel, Ozark, with the Rev. Joseph Fahl officiating. Burial was in Linden Cemetery.
