Mrs. Ada Handy, 71, of Springfield, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Springfield Baptist Hospital, where she had been a patient three days. Mrs. Handy, who had moved to Springfield in 1953, was a former longtime resident of Lindenlure in Christian County. She was a widow of Marshall D. Handy who died in 1950. Survivors include a son, Dee, Nixa; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Morris of the home, Mrs. Irene Thompson, Springfield and Mrs. Wanese Mefford, Davis, Calif.; a brother, Dan Stone, Route 1, Rogersville; a sister, Mrs. Etta Hedgpeth, Springfield; four grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Harris Chapel in Ozark with the Rev. Francis Bishop officiating. Burial was in Linden Cemetery.
