Doris Ann Anderson Hayes, 79, of Leland, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at her home. She was born on November 29, 1932 to the late Daniel and Ebelena Blackmon Anderson.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, James Hayes, daughter; Carolyn Huckaby, and a grandson Jeremy Chad Causey.
Doris was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. Most of all she was a wonderful person loved by all.
She is survived by her son; Harry Hayes and wife Bonnie of Rocky Point, daughters; Nancy Hayes of Mebane, Tammie Ferguson and husband Chip of Burlington, Sylvia Costin and husband Danny of Leland, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one sister, Juanita Baker of Wilmington, many extended family members and friends, and of course her beloved cat Sunny.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 11:00am at Leland First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, NC.
