Gaffney - Edward Milton Binnicker, 91, of Gaffney, died Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2012, at Emeritus at Skylyn Place in Spartanburg. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Dr. Shane Stutzman officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, directed by Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the church before the service. Pallbearers will be Lynn Buck, Jamey Proveaux, David Ruppe, Bobby Scott, John Subbe and David Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Keenagers of Northside Baptist Church and the Bible Fellowship Class of Northside Baptist Church. Mr. Binnicker was born May 29, 1921, in Cordova, a son of the late Willie P. Binnicker and the late Geneva Dukes Binnicker. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II, was owner and operator of Fiske French Fries for 25 years, owned and operated several barbecue establishments for a number of years, was a Past Commander of VFW Post 2779, and was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by sisters Ermie Lou Binnicker, Vivian Buck, Elise Jennings and Marie Chavis. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Florrie Lou Scott Binnicker of Gaffney' son Chris, and Diane, Binnicker of Gaffney; two brothers, Alvin Binnicker of Beach Isle and Wilbur Binnicker of Cordova; two sisters, Mildred Edgemon of Orangeburg and Beatrice Hutchins of Cordova; a granddaughter, Heather Gay; two step-grandchildren, Julie Ruppe and Jamey Proveaux; and five step-great-grandchildren.
