Glynn Kay "Ooddee" Hinrichs, 65, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at her home in Columbus.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 27 at 2:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Pastor Dusty Sprague officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Platte County Historical Society, Platte County Book Mobile, or the donor's choice.

"Ooddee" was born August 31, 1947, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Glenn and Lorraine (Hoth) Olson. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1965 and went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1969. While in high school, Ooddee was a cheerleader for three years, a runner up in the 1965 Miss Photogenic contest, an attendant for Homecoming Queen, faculty editor for the yearbook, and a member of the Booster Club and Thespians. On August 17, 1968, Ooddee was united in marriage to David Hinrichs. The couple moved to Santa Clarita, California, where they raised four children. The marriage ended in 1997. While in California, Ooddee taught school, was a buyer for Electrol, and volunteered both for a Suicide Hotline and the SCV Scholarship Foundation. She moved back to Columbus in the mid 2000 to care for her mother.

Ooddee enjoyed reading, learning about her computer, sewing, and writing. Nobody was a stranger, she loved to visit with old friends and make new friends, and talking to everyone she met. She was a member of a Bible study group, Art Club, Library Book Club, and the "New" Red Hat Society. Ooddee especially enjoyed spending time with her best friend and significant other – Tom Newman. To sum up Ooddee's life in three words – Live, Life, Love.

Children – David (Amanda) Hinrichs, Gina (Robert) Anaya, Joshua (Teresa) Hinrichs, and Jay Hinrichs
Significant Other – Tom Newman
Grandchildren – Whitney and Hannah Hinrichs; Luke and Emily Hinrichs
Sister-in-law – Sharon Olson
Cousin – Cathy Hoth Schmidt
