Steven D. Benton, 67, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away at his home on February 11, 2010. Steven was born on January 29, 1943, in Hartford, CT where he lived most of his life. He was the son of the late Kenneth F. Benton and Sally (Gavis) Benton. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1962. Steven entered the U.S. Army to serve his country during the Vietnam War where he served with the 1st Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism in action and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service for the city of Windsor, CT. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth F. Benton, Jr. in 2009 and is survived by... A good humored, charismatic man, he leaves... A memorial and burial service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
