Jon Simmons

Simmons, Jon Eric went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2008. Jon was born on May 28, 1952. He is a descendant of an original pioneer settler's family of Dallas County.

He was a member of the Dallas Historical Commission from 1980- 1987 and 1999-2004.

He served as chairman of the Dallas County Park and Open Space Board from 1993-1997.

He served on the Carrollton A.W. Perry Homestead Museum Board from 1980-1987. He was a member of the Republican Party serving as Precinct Chairman and election Judge from 1984-2008.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Simmons, his daughter Lauren Simmons, his mother, Dorothy Simmons, his father Gene Simmons, his three sisters, Debra Simmons, Sandra Simmons and Pamela Brooks, two nieces and a nephew as well as numerous cousins.

He was a Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Coppell.

The viewing will be at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 6-8 p.m.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the A.W. Perry Cemetery and then the Celebration Service is immediately thereafter-11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Coppell.
