Margaret Van Cloostere, 73, of Route 1 in Murphysboro, died unexpectedly at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro on Tuesday, April 28, 1981.

Mrs. VanCloostere was born in Murphysboro to Edward and Emma Stein Daum on January 28, 1908. Her siblings were Louise Glenn and Edward Daum.

She married Emile VanCloostere in DuQuoin on June 11, 1935. They have two daughters, Patricia Krawczyk of Murphysboro and Marceil Steele of Frankfurt Germany. They have four grandchildren

She was a retired teacher who had taught at the Orchard Hills School in Murphysboro. She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association.

She was also a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Murphysboro.
