W. W. 2Henrik B. Olson, 89, Minot, ND, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in a Minot hospital.

Henrik was born April 10, 1922, in Mo I Rana, Norway, a son of Nils and Bergljot (Henrikson) Olson. He moved with his family at the age of one and a half to the United States, settling in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Model High School. Henrik furthered his education by attending Minot State College for two years.

Henrik served in the United States Army for three years during World War II, IN Belgium and England prior to his honorable discharge.

Henrik worked for Mackley Construction and Mattson construction as a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping others.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Henrik is survived by: Siblings: Brynhild (Alven) Schmutzler, Margaret (Melvin) Schmidt and Bergljot Olson, all of Minot; brother-in-law Wilbert Schmidt, Minot and a special nephew Warren Schmutzler. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Henrik was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alma Kohler (Henry), Laila Schmidt; and a brother, Hjalmer Olson.

Private family services will be held.
