LeRoy C. Wieting, 66, Blackstone, died suddenly at his home Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. of an apparent coronary. Livingston County Coroner Keith Von Qualen investigated.
Weiting was born Oct. 29, 1913 in Hitchcock, S. Dak. To Willie and Mary (Puffer) Wieting. He married Edna Crawley Oct. 12, 1932 in Huron, S. Dak.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Gary L. Wieting, Gurnee and a daughter, Mrs. Roscoe (Valoy) Zbinden, Blackstone. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, one brother, Roland Wieting, Woonsocket, S. Dak.; and a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Doris) Zwanzinger, Tindal, S. Dak.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George. A resident of the Blackstone area for 40 years, he retired from farming about three years ago.
He was a member of the Blackstone United Methodist Church, to which memorials may be directed.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Winterrowd Funeral Home with visitation Friday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Blackstone Cemetery. [Published in “The Daily Times-Press,” Streator, Illinois, Friday, November 23rd, 1979, MDP, Page 4.]
