George M. Zeger, 63, formerly of R. R. 1, Mercersburg, died at 12:45 p.m. Friday at the home of his son, Martin Zeger, of R. R. 4, York, with whom he had resided for several years.

Born on July 15, 1901, near Mercersburg, he was a son of the late Joseph H. and Sarah Ellen Dietrich Zeger. He was a former employee of Loewengart Co., of Mercersburg.

Surviving in addition to his widow, Mrs. Venie Wiser Zeger, of R. R. 4, York, and his son, Martin, are six daughters and four sons: Mrs. Elvin Shives, of Mercersburg; Mrs. Harry Burkholder and Mrs. Alfred Hawk, both of R. R. 1, Mercersburg; Mrs. Jack Mellott, of Fort Loudon; Mrs. Betty Lou Wolfe, of Baltimore; Mrs. Jack Humphrey of Syracuse, N.Y.; Paul Zeger, of R. R. 1, St. Thomas; Georgie, of Omaha, Neb.; Marlin of York; Fred, of 153 Kennedy St.; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters: John and Nelson Zeger, both of R. R. 2, Mercersburg; Luther, of Fort Loudon; Mrs. Chester Hoover, of Greencastle; Mrs. Norman Everetts and Miss Mary Ann Zeger, of R. R. 2, Mercersburg.
