Paul Mouw, 95, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Orange City, passed away Monday, Aug. 3 at Lakeland Memorial Hospital in Lakeland, Fla.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Robert Vander Schaaf officiated. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Mr. Mouw was born Sept. 25, 1891 at Middleburg, the son of Maas Mouw and Paulonia Lagendyke Mouw.
On March 3, 1915 he married Dena Harmelink at Middleburg. They farmed for a short time. Mr. Mouw then operated the Golden Rule Store in Orange City in partnership with Jacob Hofmeyer. It later became the Ben Franklin Store. Mrs. Mouw passed away in 1955.
In 1960 he moved to Winter Haven with his daughter and son-inlaw. He became a resident of the Lakeland Presbyterian Home two months ago.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven and had been a member of the First Reformed Church in Orange City.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth E. (Daisy) Bloemendaal of Belleair Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Randy and Mrs. Wes (Vicki) Berry; four greatgrandchildren and sister, Mrs. Eva Post of Orange City.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, two brothers and three sisters.
