Mrs. Blanche Freeman Avery, 84, of Pine Mountain died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Hospice LaGrange.

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church with the Revs. John Adams and Mabry Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Avery is survived by her husband, Curtis B. Avery Jr., her son, Harold P. (Maurine) Avery, and her daughter, Pam Avery, all of Pine Mountain; three grandchildren, Zak Avery and Sage Bailey, both of Atlanta, and Charlie Bailey of Athens, Ga.; two sisters, Frances Freeman McLean of Lumberton, N.C., and Irene Freeman Daniels of Warner Robins, Ga.; and four nieces.

Born April 29, 1922 in Weston, Ga., Mrs. Avery was the daughter of the late Henry Cuthbert Freeman and May Dickey Freeman. She had lived in Pine Mountain for the past 61 years and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, where she was the pianist for 55 years. Mrs. Avery was very active in community and civic organizations in Troup and Harris counties.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to Hospice LaGrange in her memory.
