Ruby Maxine Layman, 79, of Hardin, Missouri, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri.
Maxine was born on December 29, 1932 in Edmond, Oklahoma, to William Ferman and Donnie (Simpson) Glenn.
She married Walter K. "Junior" Layman of Hardin on August 22, 1953; he survives of the home. Maxine was a housewife and homemaker.
She was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ in Norborne before transferring to the Church of Christ in Braymer, Missouri. She was also a member of the Russellville Extension Club. Maxine lived north of Hardin most of her life. Additional survivors include two sons, Rex Layman and his fiancé Alice Dotson of Norborne, Missouri; her children, Jess Tyler and Katy Dotson; Rodney Layman and his wife, Michelle of Richmond, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ray Casteel of Norborne; one sister, Balma Louise Wollard of Norborne; five grandchildren, Christy Miller and her husband, Russell; Rachelle Amery; Casey Layman and his wife, Emily; Ashley Layman and Cassidy Layman; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Chase Layman, Ashton Layman, Ethan Woeffner, Wyatt Woeffner and Amber Sanders; two step-grandchildren, Brandon Casteel and his wife, Brandi; and Christopher Casteel and his wife, Chelsea; and one step-great-grandson, Caden Casteel; one niece, Gina Repphun and her husband Steve; and one nephew Glenn Wollard.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents.
