Former Grass Valley and Auburn, California resident Irene S. Shinn, 91, died November 7, 2012 at the Hospice care facility Compassionate Care Home in Grass Valley, Calif.
Shinn was previously divorced from James Burton Shinn, previously deceased in 1983. Irene Shinn was born March 17, 1921 in Oxford, Ohio. She was the second sibling of five, all previously deceased. Irene was the daughter of Ottowell and Clara (Rumley) Silvers.
Irene is survived by her son, Jay B Shinn, now a resident of New Jersey with his wife April. Irene has three grandchildren, Connor, Eric and Mathew Shinn.
Irene retired in 1979 from the US Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, last assigned in Auburn, California was part of a team of professionals that worked for many years on the Auburn Dam project. Irene suffered from dementia in her remaining years. Irene always had a smile and was happy to see others. All those that came in contact with her loved her personality, charm and her concern for the well being of others. This day, she is now with the loving spirits of others. Otto' s family is now all together.
