Mr. Alphonso "Eddie" Blake, age 61, longtime resident of Alachua, FL, passed away February 4, 2011 at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, FL. He was born to the late Edwin and Leanna Blake. He graduated from A.L. Mebane High School, class of 1969, and worked as a Carpenter until his retiring years.

Mr. Blake is survived by his children: Cheryl "Sharon" Blake-Lewis", Alachua, FL, Terry Blake, Aaron Small, Angela Blake, Tayana Washington, Jennifer Blake, Phyllis Blake, all of Gainesville, FL, siblings: Edward Blake, Jimmy Blake, Glenn Blake, Mattie Jo Baker, Betty Blake, Evelyn Blake, all of Alachua, FL, Mae Griner, Gainesville, FL; step-parent; Geraldine Blake, Alachua, FL, longtime companion, Carleen "Beanie" James, Alachua, FL; four step-brothers, six stepsisters, and fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Blake, sister, Maxine Blake and Nephew, Jimmy Blake.
