BIRTH AND PARENTS AND CHILDHOOD
When Charles (Charlie) Bishop Sr was born on April 29, 1920, in Alberta, Canada, his father, Joseph, was 41 and his mother, Gertrude, was 43. At that time, his parents lived in Canada with their five previously born children. He had left his Canadian home by 1934, and in 1940, he stated that he was a Naturalized Citizen of the USA.

• MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
In 1943 he married in the Carolinian home of Mary Kendrick Inman's parents. In Carolina and in Michigan, Charlie had three sons and one daughter with Mary Kendrick Inman. Their children were Charles (Chuck) Bishop Jr, Ronald (Ron) Wayne Bishop, Robert (Bob) Edward Bishop, and Jane Ellen Bishop Zanter. George Harry Zanter, Jane's husband, passed away in Missouri at home in 2018.
• MILITARY SERVICE AND OCCUPATIONS
Charlie served in the Army Air Forces for four years having enlisted in 1942. A family narrative is that he was a Captain in the Army Air Corps stationed at Willow Run and England during part of WWII. A family narrative is that his job was in the area of public relations. He received an Honorable Discharge. One family narrative is that he worked for the following companies: Kaiser-Frazer Automobile Company, for Motorola, and for General Motors. Another family narrative is that he worked in the departments of public relations and in sales, respectively.
• DEATH
He died on October 30, 2005, in Kansas City, Missouri, when he was 85 years old.
• BURIAL
Charles Bishop Sr was buried in Kansas City, Missouri. His wife, Mary Kendrick Inman Bishop also passed away in Kansas City. Mary passed when she was 97 years old. They are both buried in Terrace Park Cemetery in Kansas City.
