Mrs. Billings, 79 Dies in hospital Mrs. Harrison (Hattie)Billings, 79 of 3617 N 8th St. , passed away Wednesday morning at the Monroe county Hospital where she had been a patient the past week. She had been in poor health the past two years.
She was born in Monroe county near Cuba the daughter of Nelson and Ann Johnson Cook, she was married to Harrison Billings in 1914,two years ago they celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald and Donald of Albia, and Ronald of Des Moines, three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Matney, and Mrs. Kathryn Nichols of Knoxville and Mrs. Beulah Lepley of Albia, 22 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren, one brother Carl Cook of Albia and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cook and Mrs. W.C.Hartley, both of Albia.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm from the First Christian Church with the Rev. Sanual Gowan, paster of the Church of the Nazarene officiating.
