She was born in Parishville on May 18, 1892 the daughter of Edson and Clara Newell Simonds. She attended Parishville schools and graduated from the Colton Training Class. She taught school in Hopkinton, Parishville Center and Hillsboro. She also was employed for several years as a bookkeeper for Sherman Lumber Co. and Raquette River Paper Co.
On Sept. 11, 1937 she was married to George S. Cooke of Massena. He predeceased her on May 30, 1965. For the past 12 years she had made her home with a niece, Mrs. Wayne Richardson of Parishville.
Surviving is Mrs. Richardson and other nieces and nephews.
Burial was made in Hillcrest cemetery.
