Robert Alan Huffman, 80, of 4233 1/2 Dever St. North Moreland, died of a heart condition at 7:45 a.m. Sunday at Portsmouth General Hospital. Mr. Huffman was admitted to the hospital in critical condition Saturday night. He was born in Greenup County, Ky., May 17, 1875, a son of James and Victoria Riffe Huffman. He was married to Lulu Oliver, April 01, 1900. Mr. Huffman formerly operated a grocery store and later worked as an employee for the city of New Boston. He retired in 1949. He was a member of Christian Baptist Church in North Moreland. He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Lorena Fitzer of Franklin Furnace, Mrs. Estelle Patton, New Boston, Mrs. Nora Russell of Huntington, and Mrs. Evelyn Fitzer of Waverly. Also surviving are three sons, Lawrence Huffman of 1224 Kinney's Lane, and Robert Huffman, 1679 Charles St.; three sisters, Mrs. Doshia Poston, Mrs. Gertrude Meyers and Mrs. Ella Williams, all of New Boston; a brother, Ezra Huffman, of Dayton. Twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christian Baptist Church in North Moreland. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence until time for the service. Windel - Howland Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
