Lillie Fay Cook (1933-2012)

VAN ALSTYNE - Lillie Fay Cook, 79, of Van Alstyne passed away on November 18, 2012 at her residence.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Van Alstyne Cemetery, Van Alstyne, with Rev. Jim Poole officiating, assisted by Rev. Mike Hermanson. Pallbearers will be Tad Morrison, Ricky Beall, Earl Davis, Alex Stephens, Wade Jones and Wayne Raney.

Lillie was born on February 12, 1933 to Louis Jones and Bulah Shepard in Bokchito, Oklahoma. She attended school the Blue School, in Blue, Oklahoma. On July 12, 1963 Lillie was married to John William Cook in Durant, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death 1987. Lillie was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne.

Before retirement Lillie worked as seamstress, homemaker and nursing assistant.

She and her husband were blessed with four sons and two daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Bulah Jones, and her husband John William Cook.

Surviving are her four sons, J.D. Cook of Sherman, James Cook of Trenton, Billy Cook of Van Alstyne and Wesley Cook of Van Alstyne; her two daughters, Barbara Townsend of Tom Bean and Glenda Mata of Van Alstyne; sister, Shirley Bates of Blue, Okla.; sister-in-law, Helen Cook of Sherman; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
