*Although the headstone shows birth year being 1885,.. Census, Ohio Marriage License to John Walter, and the "Meyersdale Republican Obituary" INDICATE she was born in 1887.There are NO records I have found stating she was a twin to Grover C Tedrow, her brother, who was born on March 4, 1885.

She was the youngest of 12 children born to the marriage of Simon Cornell and Sarah Humbert Tedrow.

Florence first married Charles Horchler. They lived
in Garrett, Somerset County, PA. before moving to Akron Summit County,Ohio.

1910 census show "Flora" giving birth to 3 children and 0 living. She gave birth to an premature unnamed stillborn daughter, 27 Oct 1906. They had a son, Albert Earl Horchler, born 8 Dec 1908 and passed away on 7 March 1909 from pneumonia. They lived in Garrett at this time.
They lived in Akron when their twin boys, Edward and Irvin Horchler were born on 28th of Feb 1911, Both passed away that same day. The twins are buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Akron Summit County Ohio. A marker has been placed on their grave.

She then married John H Walter on 25 Nov. 1916.

Florence's Obituary states she has a son Ralph.We have found no evidence of Florence giving birth after the death of her twins, but we did find were John (her husband at the time of her death) had a son named Ralph from a previous marriage.


FLORENCE O. WALTER Obituary

Mrs. Florence O. Walter died Monday, March 13, at her home in Akron, O., after
an illness of almost eight years. She was born in Salisbury, Pa., 58 years ago,
a daughter of the late Simon and Sarah Tedrow. She had been a resident of Akron
almost three years.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Walter, and one son, Ralph, of
Missouri, Ohio; also the following brothers: John Tedrow, of Youngstown, Ohio;
Cleveland of Akron; Harvey and George, of Salisbury, and Frank of Johnstown,
Pa., and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Chaney, of Garrett, Pa.
Funeral services were conducted at the Eckhard Funeral Home on Thursday, March
16, at 1:30 p.m. by the pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, of which she was a
faithful member. She was a very active church worker and in spite of her
illness, was always ready to lend a helping hand to her friends and neighbors.
Burial took place in Massillon, Ohio. Among those attending the funeral were
Mr. and Mrs. George Tedrow of Salisbury, Mrs. Curtin Chaney and son, Howard of
Garrett, and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Miller of Johnstown.
