Paul Bechtol
Paul J. Bechtol, 77, Howe, a former resident of Fort Recovery, died Thursday shortly after noon at the LaGrange Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
He had worked at the former Fort Recovery Equity Exchange and the former Harwig Poultry Processing and had a sanitation route in Fort Recovery.
Born May 13, 1914, in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of Walter and Mebel (Bigelow) Bechtol. He was married April 8, 1939, in Portland to Letha “Fern” Abbott, and she survives.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mae Adkins, Bluffton, Nancy Steed, Albany, and Mrs. Harry (Linda) Ness, Enon, Ohio; two sons, Paul E. Bechtol, Cookesville, Tenn., and Carl Bechtol, Fort Recovery; one brother, Ralph Bechtol, Fort Recovery; 13 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
Services are set for 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Brockman and Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, with the Rev. Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial will be in the Salamonia Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from noon until time of services Monday.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
