Sergeant Preston was one of five RAF airmen who lost their lives when their Avro Anson #6767 aircraft crashed near Fingal, Ontario.

RAFVR Sergeant Edward Alfred DOUGHTY

RAFVR Sergeant Herbert PRESTON and

RAF Leading Aircraftman James WATSON.

He is commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
