"Rosemary Coyne Bresset, 92 of Mount Pocono and formerly of Honesdale, died on Friday, November 9, 2012 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 16, 2005.

Born in Honesdale on September 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Mary A. Stanton Coyne.

Rosemary was very proud of her heritage and family. Her great grandfather Major General Thomas F. Coyne built the original the original Coyne House on the corner of 6th and Main Streets in the late 1850's that was destroyed by a fire in 1875 and her grandfather Michael Thomas Coyne later rebuilt the Coyne house in 1875.

Her father Fred M. Coyne owned and operated the Hotel Allen from 1934 until his death in 1942. Her sister Helen M. Coyne Hosie and her husband Thomas operated the Hotel Allen until 1968 when it was sold to Rosemary and George and they operated it until the spring of 1978.

She and her husband George later built and operated the Fife and Drum Motor Inn. Her brother James J. Coyne and wife Mae owned and operated the Park Hotel and in later years, her son owned the Wayne Hotel now owned by the Schwartz Family.

Rosemary was active in her business ventures, mortgages and finance until last January when she took ill. She retained her home in Daytona Beach, FL and a townhouse at Foxfire Condominiums in Mount Pocono.

She is survived by her four children James of Mount Pocono, Michael of Honesdale, Attorney Stephen of Honesdale and Marylou Thomas of Reeders; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her niece Marie Coyne Flederbach of Honesdale.

She was preceded in death by her brothers James J. Coyne and Thomas F. Coyne; a sister Helen M. Hosie; her son Frederick Louis Bresset.

Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory. As per Rosemary's request, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated for she and George on Tuesday, Nov. 20th. at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery.

Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.

Memorial contributions can be made to VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301."
