Mr. Reubin Paul Colwart, age 94 of Fredericksburg, Texas, formerly of New Orleans, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, in Knopp Nursing Home in Fredericksburg. He was a Houma, LA native and a pre-Pearl Harbor US Army Air Corps veteran who served forty-nine months as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. Reubin was an accountant who worked for the Texas Company, Offshore Drilling, and 2-R Drilling.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aureline Ella Aymond Colwart of Bunkie, LA; a son, Eugene Paul Colwart; his parents, Emile and Agnes Babin Colwart of Houma and five brothers and sisters: Alvin Colwart, Hubert Colwart, Cleveland Colwart, Agnes Marlbrough and Jeanette Thompson.

Survivors include two sons, Sidney E. (Debra) Colwart of Baton Rouge and R. Phillip Colwart of Hammond; one daughter, Charlene C. (John) Papale of Madison, Mississippi; and two grandchildren, David Papale and Lisa Papale of Madison, MS.

Reubin retired to Fredericksburg after the passing of his beloved wife, and made many lasting friendships in the Texas Hill Country. The generosity of his friends and neighbors will always be remembered by Mr. Colwart's family.

Graveside Services with Military Honors for Reubin Paul Colwart were held on Friday, November 16, 2012, with Fr. Scott Chemino officiating in Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie. Burial occurred under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
