Burial will be at Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Home of Slaton.
He died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at University Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Brady. He attended Anson High School. He lived in Tahoka, Levelland and Sweetwater before moving from Albany to Slaton in 1996. He was an ordained minister in the Moment of Truth Church of Jesus, as well as a bricklayer.
Survivors include a son, Billy Joe Jr., of Lubbock; three daughters, Amelia Gail Balliew of Albany, Elizabeth Novian-Rojas of Lubbock and Brenda LaVelle Moore of Benbrook; his mother, Mary Irene Novian of Slaton; a brother, Johnny Ray Novian of Albany; seven sisters, LeEtta Hill of Breckenridge, Frances Swan of Lubbock, Bonnie Loftis of Graham, Mary Coker of Cave Hill, Ark., Pauline Maeker and Christine O'Neal, both of Slaton, and Margie Hood of Kingwood; and eight grandchildren.
