Mrs. Louise Sanny Died On Monday. Lived Half Century In Remsen Vicinity.
Mrs. Louise Sanny died Monday, February 18, at her home in Remsen of a heart attack.
Mrs. Sanny was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gravenhorst and was born Jun 29, 1871, in Hampton, Rock Island county, Ill. She was married December 17, 1890, to John Sanny in Benton county, and the next year they came to Plymouth county and located on a farm near Remsen, where they lived until 1918, when they retired and moved to that town.
Two sons and one daughter survive the parents, Frank Sanny of Luverne, Minn., Charles Sanny of Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. Ida Kennedy of Los Angeles, Calif. One son died in infancy.
Mrs. Sanny was a member of the American Legion auxiliary for 25 years.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Evangelical church in Remsen with Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating and burial was in Remsen city cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Niggeling, Emory Spiecker, John Engelbrecht, Frank Engelbrecht, Carl Mehlhop and Dr. Mylan. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Friday, Feb. 22, 1946, page 1.

Death Sunday claimed Mrs. Louise Sanny, one of Remsen's oldest residents and who made her home in this community for the past 56 years.
Mrs. Sanny was stricken suddenly Sunday night. She apparently had been enjoying good health and her death was a shock to family and friends. Death was caused by a heart ailment which was present several years before her death, although she was never seriously ill.
Mrs. Sanny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gravenhorst, was born June 29, 1871 in Hampton, Ill. At the age of 4 years she moved with the family to Benton county, Iowa where she remained until her marriage to John Sanny December 17, 1890. The couple then came to Plymouth county and settled on a farm north of Remsen where they developed one of the outstanding farms of the community. In 1918 they decided to retire and moved to Remsen.
John Sanny died March 11, 1942, at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Sanny remained here until her death.
She was one of the outstanding citizens of the Remsen community and was respected and loved by all who knew here. She was a good Christian and a staunch member of the St. Paul Lutheran church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Sanny were the parents of three children all of whom live to mourn the loss of their loving mother. They are Charles Sanny of Modesta, Calif.; Ida Sanny of Los Angeles, Calif., and Frank Sanny of Luvern, Minn.
