William Henry Bacon was one of six children born to Captain Josiah Bacon and his wife Hannah Crocker Green. William's family were descendents who arrived in America aboard "The Mayflower".

William was united in marriage to Julia Clark Gwathmey in 1839 in Louisville, Kentucky. William and Julia were blessed with two soncs during their short marriage:

William passed away on March 24, 1854 in Boston, Massachusetts according to death records. He was originally interred in Boston and was removed to Louisville, Kentucky with a burial date of October 7, 1887 with his wife, son, and in-laws.
