DEATH OF MRS. BACON.
Succumbs After an Illness of Several Months – Was an Estimable Woman of Strong Character.
Mrs. Alice Tyler Bacon, wife of Mr. Williamson Bacon, died last night at 3:20, after an illness of about two months, at the family residence. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tyler, and had a wide acquaintance.
Mrs. Bacon was of a gentle and retiring disposition but strong for the right and the true. A strong and carefully cultivated mind, and a heart ever alive to the wants of the poor and suffering, combined to make her character one of rare merit. She will be sorely missed by many who knew her sterling worth. She led a devout Christian life. Mrs. Bacon leaves one daughter, Mrs. Claude R. Barnes.
Mrs. Bacon's death makes the third sister of this family to occur within the last eighteen months. Mrs. J. W. E. Bayly and Mrs. Charles F. Johnson, who died recently, were both sisters of Mrs. Bacon.
