MRS. EUDOXIA LEWIS PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING
Mrs. Eudoxia A. Lewis died this morning at 1:15 o'clock at her home on Park street following a very short illness. She was in the best of health Sunday and her relatives were not informed of any change until last night. The body has been removed to the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Judd. In Leclaire, where the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. J. G. Hildenstein, pastor of the German Methodist church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis was 75 years, 5 months and 6 days old and was born in Tennessee. She came to Madison County with her father when about 18 years old and settled in Ompghent township. In 1853 she was married to John Lynch, father of C. H. Lynch and D. A. Lynch, of this city and after his death was married to Thomas Lewis, an old soldier who died recently. She had been a resident of Edwardsville for a quarter of a century. She is survived by three stepchildren, C. H. Lynch and D. A. Lynch, of this city and Mrs. Mary Sheppard [sic-Shepherd}, of Springfield (*not mentioned is OlIve Burkhart) and three daughters. Mrs. J. W. Judd, of Leclaire; Mrs. Charles Womack, of Collinsville; and Mrs. Robert Harbison, of St. Louis.

Jerseyville, Ill., July 9—Mrs. Eudoxia Lewis, widow of T. J. Lewis, an old soldier, died at her home in Edwardsville, Ill., yesterday, after an illness of one day, and only a few weeks after the death of her husband. The funeral was this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Judd, in Leclaire, Illinis
