Mrs. M. Womack Dies Friday At Daughter's Home - Mrs. Matilda Womack, for more than 35 years a member of Collinsville Rebekah Lodge and Royal Neighbors, died Friday, June 3 at 8 p. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. R. Luebbe, 808 St. Louis road.

She was born on a farm south of Edwardsville August 2, 1857, and had reached the age of 80 years, 10 months and 1 day. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas [sic *] Lynch, members of a pioneer Edwardsville family. In 1875 she was married to Charles Womack in Edwardsville, moved from there to Glen Carbon, and came to Collinsville about 35 years ago. Womack, a mine manager of this area, died in 1916.

Mrs. Womack was a past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs and for many years was secretary of the Royal Neighbors here. She maintained her memberships in both organizations although during the last years of her life she lived with children in Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, and this city.

Rev. O. B. Kinsey conducted funeral services at Schroeppel Funeral Home at 2 p. m. Monday, June 6. Bert Kennedy assisted at the organ. Interment was made in Woodlawn Cemetery, Edwardsville, where Mrs. Womack's mother and husband are buried.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. E. R. Luebbe, of this city; William D. Womack, Chicagon; Miss Jenny M. Womack, St. Louis; and Clay H. Womack, Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Judd, Tacoma, Wash.; and Mrs. R. W. Harbison, St. Louis; and four grandchildren, Gertrude and Lloyd Luebbe; William C. Womack, Chicago; and Virginia Womack, Los Angeles.

* Thomas was the name of Matilda's step-father, Thomas Lewis. Matilda's father's name was John Lynch.
