The funeral service for Mary L. Behne, 77, of rural Kasson, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, with Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.

Mrs. Behne died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, from complications of Alzheimer's disease at the Faribault Care Center in Faribault.

Mary Louise Lee was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Rock Dell Township, Dodge County, to Dayton and Hazel (Exe) Lee. She grew up on the family farm in Rock Dell Township, attended rural school and Hayfield schools, graduating from Hayfield High School in 1954. Mary was married on June 26, 1954, in Rock Dell, to Donald L. Behne. Following their marriage the couple lived in Hayfield before moving to rural Hayfield and to their current farm in 1966, where they raised their family and have continued to make their home. Mrs. Behne was a homemaker and was employed in housekeeping at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center for many years. Mr. Behne was self employed as a milk hauler for a few years and is a longtime Kasson area farmer.

Mrs. Behne was a past member of West St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Hayfield, and was a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield. She enjoyed doing chores on the farm and taking care of the calves. She loved time spent with her family, especially all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband, Donald; four daughters and one son, Vickie (Dana) Simonson of Hayfield; Janice Twaddle of Dodge Center; Karen (Barry) Thompson of Owatonna; Donald Behne, Jr. of rural Kasson; and Bonnie (Bob) Butler of Dodge Center; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma (Arvid) Johnson of West Concord; Diane (Ellsworth) Tucker of Rochester; Delores (Richard) Fjerstad of Hayfield; and one brother, Allen (Julie) Lee of Elma, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, on Saturday morning.

Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville.
