Alta McGriff--
Mrs. Alta McGRIFF, 70, R.R. 3, Argos, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Hospital. Mrs. McGriff suffered a coronary heart attack Tuesday at her home and her condition gradually became worse. She had been a resident of Marshall county her entire life.
The daughter of William and Melissa GARVER, she was born Feb. 29, 1884, on a farm near Burr Oak. She was married to Benjamin McGRIFF in 1908. He preceded her in death in November, 1936. Following her husband's death she continued to manage their farm. Mrs. McGriff was a member of the Richland Center Methodist church.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Irene WALTERS. R.R. 1, Akron; Mrs. Lois McKEE, R.R. 5, Rochester; Mrs. Jeanette LEFFERT, R.R. 2, Argos; one brother, George GARVER, R.R. 3, Argos; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Grossman funeral home, Argos, until 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the Richland Center Methodist church at 2 p.m. Rev. H. L. ADAMS of Hobart assisted by Rev. John Paul JONES, Winamac, will officiate. Burial will be in the Richland Center cemetery.
