Bechtel was born in Sandusky and came to Lima 41 years ago. He had worked at the Lima Locomotive Works, Inc., for 40 years.
Surviving are his widow, Marie, three daughters, two sons, and one sister. The daughters are Mrs. Effie McConahey of 449 E. Pearl-st, Mrs. Alta Zink of Dewey-av and Miss Anna at home. The sons are William of N. Jefferson-st, and Harold at home, and the sister is Mrs. Mary Washburn of Sandusky.
The body is at the Bowersock and Chiles funeral home, where it will remain. Funeral service will be conducted in the Bowersock and Chiles chapel by the Rev. R. J. Schroer at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
