REESE---J. Wesley Reese, 74, farmer in the Mount Zion community northeast of Hiawatha, died Wednesday night, March 17, 1976, at the Falls City Community Hospital where he had been a patient for one day. He had pneumonia.
Mr. Reese was born December 17, 1901, near Robinson, Kans., the son of William and Ella Tolle Reese and had lived in this area all of his life. He was married to Marjorie Picton June 6, 1923 in the Mt. Zion community. He was a member of the Reserve United Methodist Church, Hiawatha Lodge 35 AF&AM, Mt. Horeb Chapter 43 RAM, Hiawatha Commandry 13, Moila Shrine, St. Joseph, Mo., and the Southeast Nebraska Shrine Club.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie of the home, one son, John Reese of Route 1, Hiawatha; one daughter, Mrs. J. Wayne (Ruth Alice) McNish of Clay Center, Kans., and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Hiawatha with the Rev. Paul Mitchell and Rev. Harold Wolf officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Hiawatha Meek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
