GUNTOWN – Justin Cole Petty, 18, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his residence. He was born March 18, 1994, in Amory to Gene and Gina Blankenship Petty. A student, he served as a volunteer fireman for Guntown, Birmingham Ridge, Cedar Hill and Baldwyn, Miss. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends as well as one very special niece and his dog "Bear." He loved his Lord dearly and was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. He was a fierce protector with a gentle soul. A statement he lived by, "God gives his hardest battles to his toughest soldiers" – Cole Petty.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Wayne Frederick officiating and the Rev. Martin Jacks assisting. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his parents, Gene and Gina Petty of Guntown; his grandparents, Vernon and Joann Petty of Carthage, Dorothy Hardin of Guntown, Hubert and Brenda Buchanan of Caledonia; great-grandmother, Etoy Brackin of Caledonia; one brother, Shane Petty of Guntown; one niece, Hollie Grace; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Sam Farrar, Wes Kloac, Bradlee Kilgo, Zack Phillips, Chad Rodgers, Hernando Diez Gomez, Landon Cooley and Michael Fondran.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Brandon, Paul Stodard, Bill Beckman, Tommy Winfield, Tommy Farrar, Guntown Police Department, Guntown Fire Department, Cedar Hill Fire Department, Birmingham Ridge Fire Department and Baldwyn Fire Department.

Visitation will be 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, Nov. 13, 2012, at the funeral home in Saltillo and Wednesday at 10 a.m. until service time.
