Son of John M. Dickerson and Sarah E. Painter.
Moved to Allen County, Kans. in 1871, and came to Woodson, County 1873 and located near Toronto.
Married to Margaret Jane McVey April 2, 1885 at Yates Center, Kans. Four children: S.Dudley Dickerson of St. Helena, Cal., Mrs. Margaret Dobbs of Eureka, J. Vernal Dickerson of Reece, Kansas, and Mrs. Katherine Smith of Eureka. He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters Mrs. Lillie Snyder and Mrs. Mayme Harris of Independence, Kans., and two brothers W.P. Dickerson of Long Beach, Cal., and T.J. Dickerson of Wichita, Kans., 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Burial was in the Toronto Cemetery.
