Rosemary Blount, 80, of the 100 block of South Gum Ave., died Sept. 20, 2002, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Born in New York City, Mrs. Blount was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Beecher Smith and was the widow of Howard Blount. She was also predeceased by a son, Lawrence F. Blount.

Mrs. Blount is survived by two sons, James T. Blount and wife Terry and Howard L. Blount and wife Susan; two daughters, Marilyn M. Tuccillo and husband Ralph and Donna M. Candler and husband Robert, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Margaret Bussman of Georgia and Ellen Tolmich of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Dawn Banicar, Denise Reese, Brian Blount, Philip Tuccillo, David Blount, Amanda Candler and Hannah Candler; and a great-grandchild, Jeremy Reese.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Father Thomas Ianucci will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Parkway, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
