Mrs. Ruby Mae Seay Owen, 96, of Dalton, died Saturday January 14, 2016 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late James and Dora Duggan Seay and was preceded in death by her husband Robert Oliver Owen, Sr.

Ruby was a member of Cove United Methodist church. Ruby had a soft spot in her heart for stray cats, she would care for them as if they were her own Her love was sewing, gardening, flowers, quilting and cooking. Ruby was a 'True Homemaker"

She is survived by her sons Robert Owen and John Owen both of Dalton; sister Bessie Shelton of Alabama; grandchildren, Rob Owen, Tracy Owen White and Sonya Covington; great-grandchildren, Melina White, Mekala White, Sydney Covington, Olivia Owen and Bo Owen; special nephew and niece Ronnie and Cheryl Shelton; other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Cove Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Cove Church and Cemetery Association, 273 Tilton Rd. Dalton, GA 30721. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com.
