Lyons, GA - Mrs. Leona Eason Sanders, age 60 of the Johnson's Corner Community, died Friday, November 9, 2012 in the St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah after a sudden illness. She was a native of Reidsville and lived there until moving to Toombs County in 1972. She retired from Wal-Mart in Vidalia after twenty years where she will always be remembered for her friendly smile. Previously, she was employed at Oxford Manufacturing, was a graduate of Southeastern Technical College, and was a licensed practical nurse. She attended the Aimwell Holiness Church in Vidalia and was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Martha Bradham Eason; and three brothers, Raymond Eason, Richard Eason, and Ronald Eason.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Raymond Sanders of Johnson's Corner; three daughters, Gail Sanders Johnson and husband Charnic, Michelle Sanders Adams and husband Vic all of Vidalia and Christal Sanders of Savannah; five siblings, Lewis Eason and wife Rose, Mary Rewis all of Reidsville, Marcus Eason of Newnan, Daniel Eason and Sandra of Oak Park, and Geneva Stover and husband Sam of Newnan; five grandchildren, Kyle Davis and Jessica Lamb, Jordan Davis, Makayla Johnson, Hunter Adams, and Allison Adams; one great granddaughter, Bailey Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, November 12th at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Wommack and Reverend Brad McVea officiating. Burial will follow in the South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00.
