FLORENCE — Leo Legrand Lynch, 62, of Florence died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at his residence.

Born in Florence County, Mr. Lynch was a son of the late Leo and Cecelia Connor Lynch. He graduated from Southside High School and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam era. He was a member of the VFW Post 3181, Branch-P.T.5 Patriots, and board member of IBEW. Mr. Lynch also was a board member of Dupont Credit Union and former volunteer for Howe Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He was a coach, umpire and member of Greenwood Baseball League. He retired after 31 years with El Dupont of Florence and loved traveling the country.

Survivors are five children, Reggie (Christy) Lynch, Kevin (Brenda) Lynch, Micky (Natalie) Lynch, JaJuan (Stacy) Atkinson and Lance (Jennifer) Lynch, all of Florence; sisters, Helen (Harry) Perkins, Ruby Evans and Janet (Ronnie) Russ, all of Florence; brothers, Jimmy (Dot) Lynch, Joe (Katie) Lych, Rue (Susan) Lych, all of Florence, and Cecil (Jackie) Lynch of Raeford, N.C.; grandchildren, Ashley, Josh, Brett, Chase, Madison, Mason and Hunter; and a special nephew, Vern Poston of Florence.

Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 3181, 236 S. Greer Road, Florence, SC 29506.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in the Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
