Mr. Grady Lyle Bivins, age 65 of Bethesda Church Rd., Carrollton, GA., passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012. He was born January 3, 1947 in Carrollton, Ga., the son of the late Rev. Grady Myrle Bivins and Parrie Todd Bivins. Mr. Bivins was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher. He worked as a lineman most of his life and later retired from Mike Lee Construction. Survivors include his children, Mark & Kristina Bivins of Carrollton, Ga., Chad Bivins of Bowdon, Kim Bivins of Atlanta, Ga., and Michael Strickland of Villa Rica, Ga.; sisters and brother in law, Janie & James Crews of Carrollton, Ga., and Sharon Prater of Bremen, Ga.; grandchildren, Ethan Bivins, Kannon Bivins, Ashlin Bivins and Kaylan Strickland; also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1 PM from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Fletcher and Rev. Tommy Rice officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Lee, Howard Lee, Tim Lee, Rodney Walker, Nathan Prater, Preston Prater and Michael Pierce. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Byron Spruill officiating.
