Mrs. Katie Byrne Fife, 78, wife of Sanford Fife, 2727 Gramercy, died last night at the familu residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Fife had been an active member of the L.D.S. church, had worked in the relief society, Primary and did genealogical work. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Camp Q.
On Dec. 17, 1895, she was married to Mr. Fife in the L.D.S. Salt Lake temple. The couple had resided in Ogden since that time.
She was born Sept. 19, 1873, in Piedmont, Wyo., a daughter of Moses and Catherine Cardon Byrne.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Orielle (Bertha) Blackburn, Ogden; seven grandchidlren, three great-grandchidren, one brother, Michael Byrne, Teton, Ida., and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Kendall, Uintah, and Mrs. Annie Corey, Ogden.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at one p.m. at the Larkin mortuary chapel, Twenty-fourth and Adams, Bishop J. Delmont McDonald of the L.D.S. Seventeenth ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from six to nine p.m. and Saturday until time of services. Interment will be in Ogden city cemetery.
