Mrs. Dale Coates, 82, died suddenly in her home Sunday morning. Myrtle Belle Bennett was born on a farm north of Nashua on December 28, 1892, to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Robert Wilson Bennett of Floyd County.

She married Loyal Dale Coates at the parental home March 5, 1913. Five daughters and two sons were born to this union.

Mr. and Mrs. Coates farmed north of Nashua until 1925. They purchased a farm south of Nashua which is now Town and Country Club. They moved to their present home in town in 1946. Mrs. Coates was a devoted member of United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school and was active in many areas of church service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the W.C.T.U.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Samuel Alfred, in December of 1946; three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are her husband, Dale; six children:

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday from United Methodist Church in Nashua. Pastor Robert Lemmerman officiated. In charge of flowers were Mrs. Harriet Fisher, Mrs. Alice Richards, Mrs. Hazel Chamney and Mrs. Bea Hutchison. Organist was Mrs. Nelda Shepard. Mrs. Shirley Drewis and Mrs. Janice Fritcher were vocalists. Casket bearers were DeWitt Miller, Emil Vetter, Homer Lucas, Roger Richards, Wendell Miller and Gerald Fisher. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
